Quote from Neto_r :Hi Ori

any server ready with the configuration of the race?

if not

our S2 server is with the configuration of the event, if somebody whant´s to practice

The (IHR) Events server is and has been configured for the event.
Anyone can enter the server, but only registered drivers can join the track (to keep it clean for practicing).
Approximately 30% of the registered participants have posted a lap in the server, so practice is highly encouraged to those who have not.

The !laps command for Limads used to control number of laps in a race, but now supports laptime references.
Is there another command now available for Limads to be able to change number of laps? I did not see anything posted.....
thx,

Quote from gachavesj :I have the same question.

The UFR at 25% gives 208HP/ton and the XFR at 26% gives 186HP/ton. Isn't that too much difference?

IMO, yes. The restriction should be equal. Some tracks will suit the UFR, some the XFR. But as it is right now, anyone with setup knowledge and decent abilities to make consistent laps in the UFR is going to be unbeatable by the XFR.
But it is what it is, the rules have been set.

Quote from Neto_r :is there any chance to make sanctions with any command in airio?

stop and go, or anything like that?

if you mean you want to issue a penalty such as SG, DT,etc....type !pl, then click the ACT button next to the correct name, and type in what penalty you want.

@ mAkAkAzO: yes very valid points, and in a perfect world an insim that could do all those things would probably solve alot of confrontations in servers and on forums....
My reply was to simply explain the way it is currently set at IHR. Is it ideal? No. But it is set according to how the server owners want it, within the available options in the insim....

Quote from MaKaKaZo :EQW, I have a suggestion. I have been racing in the IHR server lately and I can't get a good rating no matter what I do. It's always packed with people, and it seems impossible to avoid people hitting you or sometimes not hitting the guys that just formed a massacre in front of you. I think that all that is taken into account for calculating ratings, even when it's not your fault at all.

Anyway, thinking about that and how you love to code things I've thought that you could add to Airio a "clean overtake" detector. When a car overtakes another car for position, they both have similar speeds, and there's no contact between them, then Airio detects that it's a clean overtake. That could be chat-announced, logged to stats or whatever. And maybe both guys could get rating points for clean racing.

Is it even possible? Maybe there's not a sure way to detect light collisions with insim, I don't remember. I think it would be cool to have something like tha, although maybe it's a little too hard to code.

On IHR, you get positive rating points for:
1) Completing laps
2) Completing races (75% of laps)
3) Getting Good,Great,Top laps
You get negative safety rating points for:
1) Causing a Yellow Flags
2) Swearing
3) Excessive spam

Keep in mind that the higher your rating gets, the less it increases per event. It is there to help provide cleaner racing.
As far as changing the configs, no. They are as optimal as the Team Members care to have them (and they pay for the server).
If Airio could correctly call a pass "clean", that would be a nice added feature...but for now the best thing you can do is not put yourself in a position that may effectively affect your rating.

Bah, got it.

The gremlins must have deleted one of the lcs names, leaving an unmatched number of ranks.....

Thanks EQ

Quote from 5haz :The more popular servers should reduce their grid sizes to no more than 30, that way, the quality of racing can improve ...

IHR at one point was limited to 28 for that purpose....then the players waiting to get a spot complained the extra slots weren't being used, instead of collectively going somewhere else.....

I noticed with 2.3.5d the !ranks command no longer showed any info. Figured it was a config error. But i have just updated to 2.3.6a and still, no info when using !ranks.

!rts and !lcs both do work, but not !rks.

any ideas?

Quote from MaKaKaZo :I tried Aonio yesterday for a while and have some things to report.

First of all, if you have ever created a non-dedi server to play with some friends or to fool around or anything, you have to remove those passwords or add them to the Aonio file. It took me a while to find that info in this thread, so maybe you should point that out more clearly in the installation/usage instructions. I was rather bothered by Aonio not running at all with the TCP error message, when actually it was not a TCP error. Maybe you should fix that too, as that message is misleading both on the console and in the log file.

Second, when I connected to a server and finally launched Aonio, most of the panels were overriding info provided by the LFS OSD. It was a total mess having the racers' positions in the same place as connections list and racers positions by LFS. Ans also in the top-right corner the track and server info also goes in the same place as lap times by LFS. Also, if you use custom view, some panels get in the way of the virtual dashboard and other buttons/panels.

All in all, after a short while I had to quit Aonio because it looked awful. If I have time today I'll try to configure it a little to move/remove some panels, and to tweak LFS original OSD. I don't like removing LFS original panels -I guess it can be done, don't know where-, so maybe the default arrangement of Aonio panels after a fresh install should be different?

if it interests you, here are the settings i use:

nothing obstructs your view, and no LFS panels are covered (except for a little bit of the results panel at race end).

Since there is ballast, I chose yes to XRG.
Maybe we should let Zeug win a few so he can be ugly AND overweight.

Wasn't entirely bad. There are a few that could stand to watch themselves in the replay, and learn from mistakes.

Besides the normal ill-behaved SC periods, I saw alot of people not choosing a lane, and some not making sure it was clear before they changed lanes.

And 4 wide at the kink on the frontstretch is not good if you're not experienced......

Fortunately the race part of it didn't count, but it would be alot better if people would act like it did.

Anyway, i hope everyone is ready to move on to Round 2.
The server is always open, and there are some pretty good times posted already.
If anyone wants help with a setup, I have quite a few that were being altered for a similar restriction. I have many XFR, and a few UFR and anyone is welcome to have them.

So far the fastest XFM lap is a 50.05 by me and CRC Tripper. But i know i can do better. Can you?

Quote from bunder9999 :That's only a second better than the laps I put in the other day, I think a 48 should be possible, but that's pushing it.

i've seen guys like Worm and J.Rados do low 47's with a 20% restriction, so yeah a flying lap in XFM could get to a high 48(i sure hope noone does..lol).
IMO i wish the races weren't so far apart, but i guess you have to make the schedule according to what you have to deal with.....
